Wayfarer
Role : I had the opportunity to be the Digital Designer for the prototype app for people who love to travel.
Project Brief :
Wayfarer is a small project I was part of where i helped build a prototype travel app for people who are always on the go and searching for their next adventure.
I was tasked with designing the destination page, and structuring important content in such a way that users are able to make quick decisions on certain locations at a glance. I was responsible for designing the UI and determining the best way to utilize the already established design system in a visually appealing way.
The Destination Page
I used the deep blue as the background and paired it with bold orange information icons so it would stand out and be seen first when a user lands on the page.
Since it was imagined that the typical user for this platform is one the move and perhaps already close to the location I didn’t want the user have to search to hard for the most important information needed to know when traveling.
By using the bold icons, users are able to quickly understand what they need to prepare for their journey and what to expect at the destination they are interested in without having to leave the app or go to an alternative page. They may also receive some brief information is they choose and discover alternative places as well based off of popularity and personal selections. The name of the game here is One Stop Shop.
